Stress test

STRESS TESTS . HOW FAR CAN YOU GO?

A physical aptitude test is essential for the sale practice of sport. The sports aptitude report certifies whether a person can practice a specific sports discipline at no risk to his health. It is requested in order to participate in some sports tests or in the case of federation licences.

What does the test consist of?

  • Sportsperson’ clinical history.
  • Measurement of weight and height, cardiac auscultation, resting electrocardiogram and taking blood pressure.
  • Spirometry.
  • Stress test: with which we will measure cardiac response to exercise and the heart’s adaptation to stress. The sportsperson does the test on an ergometric bicycle or a treadmill. During the exercise, the activity is monitored through an electrocardiographic recorder that detects any cardiac risk.
For sportspersons who prepare for more demanding challenges, we conduct a training control test that collect metabolic values (lactate in the blood). These parameters will give us more precise information on the patient’s anaerobic threshold, in addition to providing different data on recovery after stress.

They will also help us more precisely profile the training loads and intervals to which patients is subjected, and make their training optimal in order to meet their sports objectives.
